...howdy , the (online) name's moonie. and welcome to my neocities about-me page! here is where i tell you about myself in ridiculous and obnoxious detail :-) (hey, you signed up for it! you clicked the page!)

let's start with some base things about me. i am an autistic, multiply disabled adult residing in the USA. (GET ME OUT OF HERE!!)

my website is a sort of display of my creativity, in which i can express myself. it's a mixed-utility sort of site, in which i can give my personal feelings as well as display my projects!

i was introduced to neocities by a good friend of mine, who is quite interested in the retro-internet aesthetic. however, i stayed in this community for the wonderful displays of creativity and technical prowess. (and i also learned to do html + css because of this site too! what a useful skillset!), i still look at other people's websites and am in sheer awe of their design quality. wow!

i often like to say that i have a vintage heart. that means i resonate more deeply with media and culture from the past, rather than the media of today. vintage art, animation, and music heals my soul in a way that nothing else can, and therefore, i am an avid vintage cartoon fan. any animations from the 1920s to 1950s are my jam! (and some of the 90s as well!).

my favorite studios would be warner brothers, disney's classic cartoons, fleischer, and the likes. i also enjoy studying psychology, collecting vhs tapes and dvds, reading, and music.

as you may have gathered from my shortened profile-- i have lots of mental illnesses. in fact, i am clinically diagnosed with more than i've even listed there. my mental illnesses effect my life and heavily inform the way i come to the opinions i have. i discuss my disability a lot on this site, and i also am physically disabled too. (albeit mildly.) so, because of my perspective, my beliefs/ethics are Very important to me. i would describe myself as a neuropunk, socialist, and anti-capitalist. i believe that a society should be based upon the benefit of its people, and that our world today is built in a way that goes against the natural human body. and mind

(fun fact: did you know that before the industrial age and artificial light, people naturally would sleep in biphasic sleep cycles? but for factory shifts, a mono-phasic sleep schedule was ideal, and so, society shifted. we're still meant to sleep in biphasic sleep by the way!)

i include neuropunk because: i believe in unconditional support for all mental illnesses/disabilities. ALL of them. many people claim to support the mentally ill, but then condemn people because of their diagnosis. i firmly believe most tiktok 'activists' are at the best ignorant, and at the worst performative and dishonest. (honestly i hope to god tiktok gets banned it is the worst thing to ever happen to this goddamn world swear to God)
